I need to admit the meal was great and the facts were compelling. Certainly things like the retention of vitamins minerals and taste were important. The reality that the surgical stainless-steel doesn't leach into your food like aluminum, or chip off like Teflon was a big plus. It certainly was heavy additionally, the energy saving with low heat cooking was also attractive, even so the price of these was steep. I'm talking about really expensive, so I quietly ate my desert and passed on purchasing.
With the Internet things have changed a whole lot. I got to go on the internet and research waterless cookware for myself. I got to see demonstrations and I got to obtain a great deal. So I got a set. The set I decided on was a 17 piece set of Vapo Seal waterless cookware. It was the hit of Christmas morning.
After cleaning out the old pots and pans and placing the brand new set in its place of honor within our kitchen cabinet, my wife lectured me in regards to the differences between waterless cookware and the regular stuff. She explained it was multiple layers covered with surgical stainless steel. That's the reason construction, it was even heating and used surprisingly low heat.
I watched as she demonstrated by sprinkling several drops of water in the pan and using it medium heat. When the water drops form little beads, the pan is hot enough she said. She then turned the heat down to low to cook the meal. It sounded simple enough. I'm just glad she loved the set of pans and besides, I didn’t consider using them anyway. I am not recognized for my cooking at my house. Actually when my spouse was sick one time and I was making her breakfast my youngest asked in surprise, "You can cook?" I am aware of a lot of men love to swagger into the kitchen occasionally and show what they are capable of doing. Even more use a grill as their cooking method of choice. I on the contrary, have not been very good at it and honestly, I seriously had no desire to be. But there I was trying to find a pan to utilize and deciding on the waterless cookware pan because mainly because it was low heat cookware, if I kicked the temperature up on high it would cook even faster…right?
Well I realized that it doesn’t really work that way. I wasn’t cooking anything fancy just beans and franks. You probably know how people say "a watched pot never boils"? Well a unwatched one boils fast and a unwatched one that's waterless cookware boils really fast. One minute I’m putting the lid on it and cranking up the heat and the next I had a smoke detector going off, beans everywhere and a burned mess on my hands. The good news is the pot wasn’t destroyed. I just followed the cleaning instructions and the burned pot was brought back to looking as good as new. Believe it or not my wife won't ever know about it unless she reads this post. Through this experience I learned my lesson, stick to the microwave and leave the stove to the real cooks.
